Eligibility criteria for Surrogacy

For Intended Parents (IPs)/ Intending woman

Medical Need: There must be a proven medical reason why IPs need gestational surrogacy.

Citizenship and Age:

Couples: Both partners must be of Indian origin, legally married, and within the specified age range:
Female: 23 to 50 years old on the day of certification.
Male: 26 to 55 years old on the day of certification.
Single Women: Indian widows or divorcees between 35 and 45 years old.

Prior Children: IPs generally cannot have a surviving biological, adopted, or surrogate child.

Exception: IPs with a child who has a mental or physical disability, life-threatening disorder, or terminal illness (with no cure) may be considered with approval and medical documentation.

For Surrogate Mother

Willingness: The woman must agree to be a surrogate mother.
Age: She must be between 25 and 35 years old on the day of embryo implantation.
Marital Status and Children: She must be married and have at least one child of her own.
Health: She needs to be medically and psychologically fit for surrogacy.
Egg Donation: She cannot use her eggs for the pregnancy.
One-Time Surrogacy: She can only be a surrogate mother once in her lifetime.
